How often should you wash your jeans? Best way to wash them. How should you dry clean them?

What You Need:

  • Jeans
  • Mild detergent that does not contain bleach or softener
  • Clip hangers
  • Turn jeans inside out
  • Group by dark or lights
  • Launder in cold water with a cold rinse. Use the shortest cycle you can based on soiling
  • Remove from washer as quickly as you can at the end of the cycle to eliminate wrinkles
  • Turn right side out and hang to dry. Hang on clip-type hangers from the legs to dry. The weight of the fabric will pull out wrinkles.
  • Avoid drying in the dryer. It causes shrinkage and creates more wear on the fibers,
  • If you must dry them more quickly, put in the dryer for 15 or 20 minutes on lower heat and then remove and hang to complete the drying.
  • Linda Says:

Washing is the preferred way to clean jeans. Launder every 3 - 5 wearings unless you wear them for something that creates heavy soiling. Dry cleaning weakens Lycra and Spandex and fibers.
